Following the deaths of 85* women, including Isla Bell in 2024, a group of courageous RMIT students transformed their graduate show into an act of protest — a vivid, collective stand against gendered violence and the silencing of survivors. Rest In Power honours the unified protest of RMIT’s 2024 graduate students and the memory of Isla Bell with exhibition design and production by Moth Design.
Held with the support and guidance of Isla’s family, the exhibition features photographic documentation of the original studio protests, documentation of informal discourse leading up to the wave of protests.
In collaboration with The Red Heart Campaign and Femicide Watch, the exhibition will also include a memorial list of women* who have been killed by gendered violence from 2024 to the present.
Visitors are invited to move through the QVWC ground floor and Birnbeal Gallery, spaces designed for reflection, remembrance, and action. From a wall to write on, to placard-making for the 2025 Walk Against Family Violence, the exhibition coincides with 16 Days of Activism providing opportunities for personal and collective engagement.
